Overview
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide originally isolated from delta sleep phases (deep sleep). It has been studied in relation to: sleep regulation, neuroendocrine balance, stress response (Schoenenberger et al., 1977).
What it is and how it works
DSIP acts as a regulatory neuropeptide affecting: GABAergic system, HPA axis, circadian rhythms. Its mechanism is not fully understood but involves: hormonal modulation, CNS stabilization, sleep cycle regulation.
Effects confirmed by research
1. Sleep regulation
- improved sleep quality, enhanced deep sleep.
2. Stress modulation
- reduced cortisol, improved stress adaptation.
3. Neuroprotection
- reduced oxidative stress, neuronal protection.
4. Analgesic effects
- reduced pain perception.
5. Adaptogenic effects
- improved resilience.
Scientific description
DSIP is: an endogenous neuropeptide, regulator of: sleep, stress, neuroendocrine balance.
